I have been reading about Instafeed.js (Instafeed.js - a simple Instagram javascript plugin). Plus doing my own css stylings gives me more freedom. Currently, new Instagram API clients are not able to fetch much of the data that Instafee. In my case, our images needed to 280x280. Most of the plugins I’ve seen (smashballoon, etc.) add some bloat I’d like to avoid. UPDATE (stevenschobert): This thread has turned into a conversation about how Instafeed.js is going to work with Instagram's new API restrictions. My temp fix was use resolution: lowresolution via the instafeedjs option, not scale the image via url and then set the 'lowresolution' image as a backround image with background-size: cover. I will have to research more, but Instagram are making it difficult with new restrictions and lack of info. I am looking to add an instagram feed on my website without plugins. As of v1.4, Instafeed.js no longer complains when youre using strings for the userId option. I am interested in making our own X3 Instagram plugin, but then of course it shouldn't be that difficult for users having to create some access token. There are some more recent posts here about getting access_token: If you need to use instafeed for a client, youll need to add them as a sandbox user and have them accept the Sandbox invitation, then log into Instagram and use pixelunion to generate a token for their own userID. There is a decent solution in the link below, but it is inferior to direct integration like instafeed.įor now, I only succeeded to get access token with this extremely tedious approach: Create your feature branch: git checkout -b my-new-feature Commit your changes. All the other plugins are website "services" where you are basically embedding a feed as an IFRAME from their website / application. This project has been converted into an NPM.
